Damien on Power Rangers RPM:
How did your hear about this role?
Through my Agent.
How would you compare yourself with your character?
Haha well Hicks is a bit of a crazy character. I dont think Im as uptight as he is but I like his strength, bravery and commitment to the Colonel and the city! But I think every character has so much of the Actor in them. I mean where else do you draw the inspiration for them from?
Who was your favorite cast member to work with?
Everybody is really fantastic! I like all the Rangers and we have a great time on set but I spent most of my time with James (Truman) so he and I get on really well.
General Questions:
Which of your roles was your favorite?
I've been really lucky with the roles I've had. I think it's important to enjoy being the character your playing anyway. But Hicks would have to be my favourite at the moment. Mainly I think because Ive been him for so long!
What are your favourite hobbies?
Reading, watching a DVD at home, plaing Xbox and doing some painting.
When did you decide to become an actor?
I've been Acting most of my life, from school shows to amature Theatre but I moved to Auckland to study acting at Unitec in 2003. Graduated 2005 and have been out doing it since then.
What advice do you have for other inspiring actors?
The most important thing I learnt was that everyone can and will have something to teach you, but it's up to you to decide out of everything what works best for you and your craft! Someone once said: "If your tossing up between being an Actor and a Doctor, be a doctor! The moneys'better! An Actor or an Accountant, be an Accountant! But if your options are Actor or Actor? Then you already know what you have to do!"
Who are the inspirations in your life?
My closest friends and loved ones! So long as they believe in me then I can do anything!
